rats
This nation is obsessed with material possessions. Just the fact that we need off site storage units to contain our things is a big red flag. What do we need this stuff for? To make us happy? Does it make you very happy sitting in a box in the corner of the garage or probably more realistically taking over your garage or in some storage unit across town? Maybe it's time to give it to someone who will be happy to have it.........The best way to get rid of clutter is get some big heavy duty trash bags, an afternoon of free time and a friend. A friend is there to be brutally honest and to have emotional distance from your stuff. They will help with those "I'm just not sure" items. Trash anything that is trash, recycle if you can. If something is broken but easily fixed set it aside to fix then re-evaluate. Try to make your "Keep" pile as small as possible, remember need or love. Everything else can be sold at a yard sale or consignment store or given to Goodwill (remember your receipt for the tax write off). Trust me, it's a great feeling when you see all the space you have but couldn't see. After your purge, you can go out and buy any storage containers needed for your remaining things but be honest with yourself. If you have to store it long term, is it worth keeping? Thinking of later storage needs may help you when you are putting things in the keep pile. After all, if you need or love it, shouldn't it be out in your house on display or at least easily accessible?Who do you think are the biggest clutter bugs? Men or WomenDo you think it's stretching it a bit to apply these Bible verses to clutter?Ecclesiastes 3:6b- there is time to keep and a time to throw away1 Corinthians 14:40- everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way
